My second short story, “The Woods Witch,” is now available in the Medusa issue of Persephone Literary, a literary magazine dedicated to showcasing the light & dark of the human experience. Check out the stunning cover above!

I initially wrote this story in April 2025 for another publication that ultimately rejected it.

I revised my story and submitted it to two other magazines, who also sent very polite “no thank you’s.”

I’m so excited that I didn’t give up on this story and it found its home! The publication is beautifully designed and is donating 10% of all profits to RAINN in order of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, which is the overarching theme of this issue.

The Myth of Medusa:

Medusa is a figure in Greek mythology best known for her hair of snakes and penetrating gaze that turns any onlookers into stone. Once a beautiful mortal woman, she was banished to a remote island and cursed to kill anyone who laid eyes on her after being sexually assaulted by Poseidon in the temple of the Goddess Athena.

What to expect from TWW:

  • Witchy cottagecore vibes
  • Isolation & loneliness
  • Generational trauma
  • Off-page SA

If you want to read my story and support this publication, the Medusa issue is now available digitally and in print. 10% of overall profit from this issue will be donated to RAINN in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. 💜
