If you’re like me, this is a common issue when it comes to writing a new story. When I have a new idea, I get so excited to write that I want to skip the initial plotting process and just get words down on paper (or screen). But then, I feel stuck because I don’t really know where things are going. I also know that if I take the time to write out a full outline, it’s going to change during the writing process, which leaves me going back to my outline to re-plot, then write, then re-plot, etc. It’s a vicious cycle.

If you feel this way, it’s actually a good thing. You’re self-aware enough to know that your story hasn’t quite ‘clicked’ yet, even though you feel strongly about it in your gut.
